Nelson Community Services is seeking a temporary part-time Child and Youth Counsellor. This position is 1 day (7hrs) per week. The incumbent of this position provides structured, planned and empirically supported therapy/treatment, provides group and individual assessment and counselling to children/youth under the age of 19 have experienced trauma and/or grief and loss issues. This position starts immediately and is for a period of six months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in human services, health, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience:
A minimum of four (4) years’ recent, related counseling experience with children who have experienced trauma and or grief and loss issues

Other Information:
- The position receives an additional 10.6% in lieu of benefits. There are no extended health benefits attached to this position.
- The position requires continued Union membership with BCGEU.
- The wage is consistent with Wage Grid 16-P [$44.54 to $54.52] of the Collective Agreement.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet program needs
- Must hold a valid Frist Aid certificate and clean criminal record.
